Sue’s Facelift – Its Effect On Me [Video]

Updated: Jan 23, 2023

Wow, it’s hard to believe that it’s been 10 months since I had my facelift. Since then, it’s had such a huge effect on me. Even more than the physical changes, the emotional/psychological changes are what have impacted me the most.

My physical appearance

On the outside, my scars are virtually undetectable and the numbness is all but gone. Overall, my face seems to be settling into itself. And I can’t be happier with the result. I feel as though I have a much more fresh appearance, but yet I still have evidence that I have lived a life. That is something I actually discussed with my surgeon prior to going in for surgery. I didn’t want to completely erase a lifetime of experience and living. And, I think that the results that we achieved certainly reflect exactly what I desired.

The emotional role

However, I think more important to me is the internal change that has taken place. Prior to the facelift, I was very self-conscious about my appearance, and especially about my neck. It was very saggy and I felt it made me look older than my 54 years. I now feel as though my self-confidence is so much greater. I get out more, and when I do so, I find that I interact more comfortably because I don’t worry about what people might think about my neck – because I think it looks pretty awesome! For me, my physical appearance affected me emotionally. So, having a facelift was more than just what I presented to the outside world. It was really what I presented TO MYSELF that needed the boost provided by a facelift.
